Any coincidence that Geno's game thrives when he plays more like Datsyuk than Ovechkin?

My first reaction was that Carey Price's whines were justified. A further look into the NHL rule book shows they are not. There is a little-known codicil in the Faber College constitution which allows the "spin-o-rama" in the Shootout. Yes...the NHL rule book actually lists the "spin-o-rama" as a legal move:

"The spin-o-rama type move where the player completes a 360° turn as he approaches the goal, shall be permitted as this involves continuous motion."

Malkin's move was a continuous motion. Carey Price can shut his yapper. Damn. A sweep over the Habs would've been nice.

On another note: P.K. Subban must be Exhibit A for those (including me) wanting to abolish the instigator rule. He's the toughest player in the league, right to the point where he turtles. Yeah...Matt Cooke is also an exhibit. But at least he's tried to straighten out. Subban just continues to cheap shot and slew foot with complete impunity from Sheriff Shanahan.

The Patriots were trying to let the Giants score, while the Giant's Ahmad Bradshaw was told NOT to SCORE. Bradshaw screws up, and awkwardly falls into the end zone for the SCORE. THAT was your game deciding play in Super Bowl X-?

Watch the Beloved Stillers smash the Dallas Cowboys in Super Bowl X-something. The only thing that can save "America's Team" from their beating is a giant blimp crashing into the Orange Bowl. (I woulda said "spoiler alert" but the DVD cover kinda ruins it anyway).

Orpik lights up Paille

To Paille's credit, he didn't come running after Orpik after this perfectly clean and boobie-blasting hit. Can't say the same for Chara, who acted like a little beatch after getting checked (cleanly) by Kunitz. God I hate that.

Great game from Brooks. Flower was better than Thomas, who probably made more "political statements" after the game. Eff him.

It's a hockey / Gooskis type of night

We love it when 2 of our favorite passions meet on the same night. Gonna watch some pucks early...then heading over to Gooskis for some rawkin good times with a few local Pittsurgh bands.

Neighbours will be there. We first saw Neighbours earlier this year when they opened up for Mike Watt at the Brillbox, and we digged it. We later met their bass player Joe, who also plays with Amoeba Knievel. I believe he also plays in one of the other bands playing, City Steps.

Headlining will be The Love Letters. Word on the streets is the show starts at 10:00-ish, and the Love Letters will be hitting the stage @ midnight. We love our Pittsburgh bands, and love it even more when they are at Gooskis. Support local music, drink a beer, and be happy tonight.

Revenge Of the Nerds - Warhol Screening

Tonight at the Warhol - a 7:00 screening of an original print of 1984's Revenge Of the Nerds. The coolest part: Curtis Armstrong (aka: "Booger") will be there to introduce the film and do a Q & A afterwards.

Easily my favorite scene from the film, a speech I like to use on special occasions...

Tonight like a bastard

A lot of talk in Pittsburgh today as to whether or not this is still a rivalry. The Sid vs. Ovie debate is dead in the water. Actually, Pascal Dupuis (7g 13a) vs. Ovechkin (8g 10a) may be the newer and more fair debate.

That said, this is still a rivalry between the 2 organizations. And we always get jackt for it. The hiring of that dick Dale Hunter should even make it more interesting.

No Tanger again. Simon Despres gets the big club call up. Let's do it.
