Deerhoof's John Dieterich

Just thought I'd pass along this interesting little interview fresh from Pitchfork, with Deerhoof guitarist John Dieterich:

Scroll to the bottom of that same page, and you'll find an mp3 off of their latest EP, titled +81. The full length, called Friend Opportunity, was released last week. I picked up +81 last month, and if it's any indicator of what Friend is like, it sounds like Deerhoof is continuing on the same wave length as Runners Four, which some folks find to be more "accessible" than their earlier stuff. Pitchfork rates it an 8.9.

Looks like they're hitting the East Coast (DC, Baltimore, Carrboro) in February, but unfortunately will be passing up a second visit to the Burgh. And seeing the brutal turnout they had last fall at the Warhol, I don't blame them.
